I said dessert, not desert

Dear Waiter:

If you plan to refill my beverage glass only when you see me licking the bottom,  don't give me a tea glass the size of a thimble.  Where have all of the pint glasses gone?  Is their a shortage that they haven't told us about?  Are restaurants actually trying to increase dishwasher pack-out by going to miniature sizes?

Maybe instead of being so intent on saving a few pennies on the wash, you should focus on pleasing your customers and increasing your revenues.  You can make a buck and we'll all be much happier.

Bag Check Inconvenience

I wonder if anyone has ever experienced this particular airport inconvenience.  I just checked in for my United flight back to Denver.  So here's the deal:

There are only 2 trips from Tampa to Denver via United today.  I work my way through the cattle line and finally get up to the kiosk - (by the way I love the airport kiosk.  They are one of life's great conveniences).  So I go thru the motions with the kiosk and try to catch the earlier flight.  Too late it tells me.  Guess I have to settle for the next one.  So I continue with the check in (seat 25F bites) and when I go to check my bag for the later flight the guy behind the counter says "you're too early to check your bag."  Too early?  Who the hell ever heard of getting to the airport too early?

So he tells me I will have to come back later at "time closer to my flight".  Even though I had already followed the tediously slow line up to the counter, I would have to go thru that torture one more time - if I had only known about the too early flight rule.

Would it be too much of an inconvenience for United Airlines to take my bag at the time I'm actually checking in?  Why is that even an inconvenience?  They don't seem to mind me paying for my trip on an earlier day, but can't accept my bag a few hours prior to take-off.

Annoying

My first inconvenience

Perfect timing for this blog.  I'm perched in the Tampa International Airport waiting for a corporate attorney to free herself up long enough to return my call. Of course she was the one who scheduled the call - so while I promptly gave her a ring at the agreed upon time, and even though I'm the one hoofing a suitcase while she's secure in her leather throne, she's not there.  All of this is extremely annoying and inconvenient....wait that's her calling back.

Just got off the phone with the corporate attorney and realize the only thing more annoying than missing a call with an attorney is getting one...

No justice.
